Daniel Craig’s Watch In Spectre Movie

*Updated 8/11/2015*

Daniel Craig is back in his 4th James Bond film with Spectre. Continuing from Skyfall where M was killed, she leaves her best 007 agent a final assignment that will see him come face-to-face with the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. While the newly appointed M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond discovers the only way to unravel the conspiracy is to protect Dr. Madeliene Swann who is the daughter of a powerful enemy. Traveling from Mexico to Italy, Austria and Morocco, he finds himself confronting an enemy from his past.

Well I thought the guess was over but apparently there will not only be one but two Omega watches seen in the movie. Both watches were speculated to be in the movie for quite some time but at the later stages the Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition was thought to be the only watch but the Omega Aqua Terra 150m will also be seen as mentioned from Omega themselves. Check out the Omega and Spectre advertisement where both watches are seen in the movie.

Anyway I’ve seen the movie and initially he was wearing the Aqua Terra before being handed the Seamaster 300 by Q. Funny how the conversation went.

Bond: Does it do anything?
Q: It tells the time.

Of course, it does detonate as well later on. Anyway the Aqua Terra 150M is a classic looking timepiece that pays tribute to Omega’s rich maritime heritage where the dial design resembles the wooden decks of luxury sailboats called the Teak Concept. The dial is sun-brushed from the center with a nice lacquered blue color. The date window is at 3 o’clock and it also comes with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

The 41.5mm case is with a stainless steel bracelet and is powered by the Master Co-Axial calibre 8500 which has a power reserve of 60 hours. The watch is also anti-magnetic to fields greater than 15,000 gauss. It has a transparent caseback where you can see the movement. The case has a screw-in crown and is water resistant up to 150 metres.

The wait and guessing is over, Omega has officially announced the watch that James Bond will be wearing in the Spectre movie. Enter the Omega Seamaster 300 “Spectre” Limited Edition. The announcement comes together with Daniel Craig visiting Villeret, Switzerland and being given a guided tour of the new Omega factory.

Previously with every film there was a commemorative edition of the watch but for the first time with Spectre, it’s going to be a limited edition of 7,007 pieces. This also means that you’ll get to wear the same watch as James Bond did in the movie.

This limited edition is similar to the Omega Seamaster 300 with a few differences. The first noticeable change is on the bezel where instead of the 60-minute scale in the normal edition, the Spectre Limited Edition has a 12-hour scale that can track a second time zone. At the 12 o’clock bezel the lume dot is no longer there and you’ll also see that on the dial the 12 o’clock Arabic numeral has been replaced with a larger Omega Seamaster logo. The bezel is bi-directional for the limited edition instead of uni-directional used for the normal edition.

The seconds hand also features a “lollipop” design where it ends in a circle instead of an arrow. The 5-stripe black and grey Omega NATO strap has the 007 gun logo and the Omega logo engraved on the hardware. On the back case, the unique serial number along with the James Bond Spectre film logo is engraved. It will be available in selected boutiques from September.

The Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial is actually an upgraded model from the original Omega Seamaster introduced in 1957. This new enhanced vintage looking model was designed for divers and comes in a 41mm case with multiple selection of materials. You can choose from stainless steel, grade 5 titanium or 18K Sedna gold. The bezel for the stainless steel and titanium models are made with Omega’s patented Liquidmetal which is incredibly hard and resistant to corrosion and scratching. However when exposed to direct sunlight at a certain angle, the bezel becomes like a mirror and the numbers can’t be clearly seen. The case is 15mm thick with a 48mm lug-to-lug height while the the lug width is 21mm which is problematic if you’re looking for other strap options.

Inside the Seamaster 300 is the calibre 8400 movement that can be seen from the sapphire crystal case back.
